And now, the news, as it was.......

January 2005

Cardo's -  January 22

The Yo2 crew had a snow-covered time in Chillicothe at Cardo's.  We made some new friends and saw to it that Helen got a bumper sticker.  We had to sneak up on her for her to take it, but she has one.  On the front page, you'll notice that there's a photograph of Mark coming out of a bank vault.  That's because that's where we have to keep him.  He's not quite domesticated yet, so it's important to the physical safety of the American public that he remain on lockdown until showtime.  We have hired a trainer and Mark is making extraordinary progress; just keep your hands away from his mouth.

October - December 2004

Happy New Year!!!  It's been busy for the Yo2 staff.  No excuses though - despite all the stuff we've been subjected to, we're still here. We did Cardo's and Yummy's and nobody complained.  Well, Dave did.  He missed  a poker game.  We're back in full swing though, and you can bet we haven't slowed down much....as far as you know. We'll be picking up right where we left off, so watch the pics page. You never know. You may have had more to drink that you thought you did.

September 2004

Slapsy Maxie's - September 11

After a Buckeye nail-biter, the Yo2 crew rocked the Continent to a crowd of happy Buckeye fans.  We made some new friends (hello to good sports Liz and Shane).  The lovely and talented Canadian Club Girls were there, Jill and Cynthia.  You gotta love those thongs.  Merv (formerly of great Columbus bands like The Point & Rockhouse) joined us on stage for a barn-burning rendition of Johnny B. Goode.  Merv rocks, and everybody knows it.

Oh - hey Wendy! How YOU doin'?

Quaker, Steak & Lube - September 1

The Yo2 rockers  pulled off another one - this time was an emergency fill-in for a cancelled band.  We sure hope those pictures of our new friend Jessica don't hit the Pics page....if so, Dave might just be in big trouble.  We'd also like to thank the Jack Daniels girls for posing for a picture with Ronnie.  He enjoyed it. A lot.  Lots 'o' bikes...the most we've seen yet.  Congrats to Heather on her new role at QSL, and we'll see ya back there on October 6th.

July 2004

Cardo's - July 31

We came, we saw, we rocked.  The Yo2 brigade stormed into Chillicothe on July 31st and took Cardo's under our control.  The club is a converted bank, with high ceilings, bank furniture, and yes, the vault is still there (you have to walk through it to get to the restroom).  We just happened to notice that there were some mighty fine looking ladies that showed up....so guys - where were you?

Brad wants to go back, but we're not going to let him until we get him some sort of restraining device....we think he may have scared some folks...

Slapsy Maxie's - July 10

How about them folks at Slapsy's?  We bid farewell to Spee in style......Did he have fun?  You'll have to ask him yourself....we'll never tell.  It was good to see Vince, Marsha, Laura (hi MCI!), Keith, Bob, and Dora after a long month.  Oh by the way, the ever-single-loving-to-mingle-Craig-the-photographer took some good shots....Keep checking the site - we'll post 'em any day now....

June 2004

Wet Spot - June 12

WOW! Did that place change!  The new stage is awesome!  I guess that's why Great White and LA Guns have played there!!  We had a great time!  We just wanna tell the owners that whole thing with the silly string -- nice touch.  [Huh?? Did they say "silly string"?] You wanna know what we're talking about???......

We'll be  playing there again in August, so drop by and find out for yourself.

May 2004

Big George's - May 22

The Poker Run raised $3000 for Toys For Tots.  That rocks.  We had an awesome time as usual.  BilliE joined us on stage for an emergency version of Sweet Home Alabama, and we jammmed.  Mark celebrated his birthday, and so did Ronnie.  Not Yo2 Ronnie, but Ronnie the female.  A special hello to Den-man's buddies from his watering hole back home....you know who you are....and y'all can dance.  To Des and all the folks at National Signs.....Yes, Virginia, there is a Smugglin' Yo-Yo.  Wear that bumper sticker with pride.

Quaker, Steak & Lube - May 19

Wild.  We saw some old friends at the 'Lube and partied with some new ones.  One of the highlights of the evening is when three young ladies began to line-dance (yes, line-dance) to the Planet Now song, Livin' A Lie.  And they pulled it off.  We've never seen anyone actually line-dance to a rock song before.  It was actually kind of hot.

The Yo2 crew would like to say a special hello to Jimbo from Lawson's Flag Store.  Jimbo donated a few flags for Yo2 Trivia Time, and some folks answered a couple of painfully easy questions and got themselves a brand-spankin' (ooh) new flag for Memorial Day and July 4th.  We think that's cool.  'Special thanks also to Cousin Bob and Mike Hannon for the sound...awesome as usual.

Crazy Fox - May 8

What can we say?  We came, we saw, we conquered.  We saw most of the old 'Fox gang and met some new friends.  The new Yo2 bumper stickers were a hit....especially with the ladies who were gracious enough to advertise the band using the sticker on their derriere.   Fantastique!  A grateful Yo2 hello to Jason for the all the kind words to the band.....

March 2004

Crazy Fox - March 27

It was a typical night of debauchery at the ol' Fox.  Julie and
JoAnn (the wonder twins), made for some exciting and yet somehow
tense moments for the Yo2 guys.  We're still trying to recover.
Dave's birthday was celebrated in style...so much so, that he
wishes that he could turn 24 all over again. OK, that's a joke,
Dave's really 26........mm-hmm, yeah.

Spring is here, the weather is getting warmer, so get those
two-wheelers out and drop by to see your favorite rock and roll
band.  We've asked Dave not to wear shorts anymore due to his
pasty-white legs.  With a little encouragement, though, it's a bet
that we could get Spee to to wear a thong.....Tommy Lee style.

Club Sunset -- March 13

We did St Pat's up in style. There was plenty of luck 'o' the Irish to be had.  Club Sunset (formerly Shorty's), has been re-animated and has come back to life.  We had our friends from Chillicothe drop by and make the celebration complete...and thanks to a wee bit 'o' luck, a good solid time was had by all.  Craig (Yo2 photog) was accosted by the Chillicothe ladies, although it's funny....we didn't hear him complain...hmmmmm........and those Punisher shorts that the ladies found "in their apartment" didn't belong to just any photographer.  By the way, did we mention that Craig is single and has a cool car?

Troublemakers at Sunset included Dora, Vince, Marsha, and Laura-Lakeview.  S'OK, I'm sure St. Pat forgives 'em.

We'll see ya at the Fox in Bucyrus this Saturday 27th....we're gonna celebrate Dave's 21st birthday....again.

February 2004

Big George's -- February 21

Awesome.  We had our old friends drop by and witness the carnage.  The Yo2 outfit attempted five new tunes in the set list, and all went well.  As far as we can tell anyway.  Dora,  Yo and Rose were there with bells on and well as Bob and Larry...who don't own any bells.  Rachel tried to run away to the other side of the bar, but Dave wouldn't have it; he chased her and made her promise to come back and dance.....which eventually....she did. Karen, Jared, and BilliE came in, but not at the same time....BilliE's new leather outfit frightens Karen.

We met Julie and Jeannie from the Westgate....hmmm....they were supposed to "be somewhere" but ended up staying for our world-famous,  late-night rendition of Roadhouse Blues....

Big thanks to Big George and his crew......we always feel at home when we play BG's....and that's no accident...they're good folks out there.

January 2004

Crazy Fox -- January 31

It was the typical Fox 'fest with all our old buddies and some new ones.  Laura (she-vocalist from Chicago) was there, Jessica dropped in toward the end, and we introduced several birthday girls (Shannon, April, etc) to the Magic Bottle.  Hadley, Dean, and Ben were present and accounted for (Hey Had - what's with the haircut?)

Big George's -- January 24

We tore it up on a very cold night in Plain City.  Sabrina danced pretty much all night, and we celebrated a few birthdays...in style. BilliE and Karen showed up, of course, and BilliE jumped on stage for a few bars...We don't always do that, but we happen to know by personal experience that BilliE is qualified.  It was Spee's first night at BG's, and he got to meet Marcea for the first time.  And he wasn't even frightened even a little bit.

Lee Dog's Locker Room -- January 10

Well, it was our inaugural show at Lee Dog's and we partied with the regular Yo2 weekend warriors, made some more new friends and things quickly got ugly.  Rose and Yo started the party by dancing to their little hearts' content, and many young ladies followed suit.  We don't remember any guys dancing, but then again, we don't remember all that much about the show either.  Dave fell off a chair.  Well, sort of.  He caught himself before he did any real damage; but it was likely the funniest stunt of the evening.  Craig laughed his behind off, but was pretty disappointed that he didn't have his camera poised and ready to catch the ever-graceful singer do a series of petite allegros.

And hey, sign the guest book and wish Yo2 axe-slinger Todd and alumni drummer Brad well as they both went under the knife last week.  No worries - Todd will be back in shape and ready to rock this week, but won't be singing any time soon. And Brad, well, he's still a little tender, and will be singing soprano for awhile.

Woo Doggie's – January 3

Three days late, but Yo2 rang in the New Year successfully.  Lots of old friends there:  Jennifer and Nicole from Chillicothe, Mike (from Columbus band, FEEL),  Jake, Paul, Russell, Carly, Maryann, Kevin, Rick, Jackie, and of course, Dora, Craig, Larry and Bob.  (Hadley was contemplating rehab after New Year's, so we'll see him at Lee Dog's).  If you were there, go to the PICS page and see if you're there....and then check in with us on the guest book!

December 2003

 Slapsie Maxie’s – December 13

Santa’s long lost cousin, Hadley Claus, made an appearance at SM’s, and gifts were passed out to all the good little girls. It’s really heartwarming to see a young lady receive a pair protective shop-goggles. Who needs jewelry anyway? To see photos of this yuletide event, surf over to the PICS page. Craig did his part as usual – there are tons of great shots of the band and the crowd. With Craig being ‘recently-single’ and all, he fended off the advances of some lovely young ladies...but girls - don’t let that dissuade you...he’ll eventually give in. Handsome devil. For the most part, it was a great start for our new drummer, Scott “Spee” Pollick. Spee is an awesome drummer, and from what we’ve heard from the ladies, a love machine. We got off to a rough start when the self-proclaimed ‘door-bitch’ wanted her two dollar entry-fee from Todd. Todd’s a sweet-talker, and was able to convince her that he’s in the band...because, well, he IS in the band. And then all heck broke loose when Hadley Claus ran into ‘Desire’, and she sat on his lap and whispered sweet nothings into his ear, which subsequently resulted in his...um, excitement. A special holiday hello to all those folks who braved the snow to come out and share a little Christmas cheer with the band. Mark, Debbie, Chris, Lynn, and of course, Stephanie, who’s currently in the witness-protection program. If you were there and had a good time, sign the guest book. If you liked what you saw, jump over to the Maxie’s web page and tell ‘em how much you LOVE the Yo-Yos.... http://www.slapsymaxies.com/feedback.htm

November 2003

Big George's - November 29

Too many turkeys.  Not the bird -- the band.  Big George's was rockin' as usual, and we partied with Yolanda, the Lamberts', the Edwards' and all of our friends.  We also made some new friends - Jackie, "Cathy-Janice" (she couldn't make up her mind), and their other friends.  They tried the magic bottle, and whatta ya know?  Shortly after that, they were dancing.....hmmmm....

We were also challenged by a Michigan fan (not you, Hadley) - and we answered the call.  It wasn't our fault.  Although Dave was slow on the draw, the guy mooned us first.  But then, you'll have that.

Clancy's - November 15

It was a typical show at Clancy's...or maybe it wasn't.  Maybe,  just maybe, we saw so many pretty ladies at this local thirst-quenching establishment, that we just about lost our minds.  We saw the young lady (Paula) responsible for much of the Planet Now CD artwork partying with her friends.  We also partied  with drummer extraordinaire Mike and his bride Kelly.  There was also some naughty dancing going on between Kelly and their attractive female neighbor, but you'll have to ask the guys about it.  Craig (the official Yo2 photographer), and his buds Rick and Doug arrived, but alas, they did not perform any naughty dancing.  OK, yeah...we're grateful for that.

And of course, there was Dora, which is always a good thing.

October 2003

Big George's - October 25

This was our first show there. A big Yo2 hello to Big George, Marcea, Shawna, and the whole crew.  Of course, there were our friends - Sean, Happy, Jana, Ty, BilliE & Karen.  We had a great time.  We saw some old friends, and made some new ones.  Thanks again to our buddy Craig (he's single, ladies) for shooting more photos.  Check the pix page - we're sporting our new hats.  By the way, you'll have to ask Ronnie about it, but we found a new use for our bright yellow Caution tape.

The Crazy Fox - October 11

It was Brad's inaugural show with the Yo2 crew, and we had a blast.  I think it will take Brad a few days to recover.  Yo2 buddies Dean and Craig bought us some new hats....check the pics page in a few days....the hats are outrageous.

Hello to our new friends at the Crazy Fox - Tami, Laura (she-vocalist from Chicago), Lynn, and all the rest.  Thanks to Fred and his crew for putting up with our, um...behavior.  Again, watch the Pics page for shots of all our friends at the Crazy Fox.
